Committee Applications 2016/17

The Bristol Consulting Society is now recruiting for the 2016/17 committee!

BCS is one of the fastest growing and most innovative societies in the University, and have been nominated two years in a row for ‘University Society of the Year’ at the NUE Awards, winning the category in 2015. We want to carry this success forward and improve in the upcoming year, and need a team of dedicated committee members to make this happen. We have five positions open, and welcome applications from people of all experiences and backgrounds.

As a member of the committee, you’ll have the opportunity to network with top consulting firms and gain invaluable experience in teamwork, leadership and organisation. We also have a great time organising events, meeting new people and we don’t take ourselves too seriously. If you would like to apply, please fill in our short application form here. Applications will close at midnight on Wednesday 13th April.

Here’s an overview of the open positions:

Project Directors x2:

For the last two years we’ve run a series of very successful consulting projects with local business. Teams of 4-6 students work together to create a business plan or solve a specific issue and come up with a presentation to show the client at the end of the project timeline. These projects are a great way to gain some real consulting experience and are great to put on a CV or talk about in an interview! The Project Directors are responsible for co-ordinating these projects, with tasks including:
  • Liaise with local businesses to organise at least 3 projects for next year
  • Recruit team leaders and members
  • Oversee the general running of the projects throughout the year
  • Arrange the final presentation to the clients
  • Work with PwC mentors so they can best help the teams

The project directors work separately to source and manage their own 3 projects, and work together to arrange events like the midway event & project presentations. Project Directors will be selected separately so please apply on your own.

  • Arrange networking and information events
  • Assist with any individual requests for application help
